From ancient tablets to modern slogan mugs, ceramics provide documentary evidence of everyday life, events and ideas. These can be shared in their time through exhibition, exchange and use, and into the future as preserved cultural objects or found archaeological objects. This work exploits the documentary power of ceramic with a literal interpretation of the word ‘document’ ‘with excerpts from my lockdown diary- fixed and rooted at the core of everyday domestic life. In a different context, audiences can engage with familiar objects in completely different ways.

This work forms part of a group exhibition by the Pollen Collective "Here, I made this - Dialogues of Distance" at One Paved Court, Richmond. 5-30 May 2021
